So Logic does it’s job. After adding several inserts on the innitially empty master chain, the server reports in lower right samples compensation, the VEP in Logic Pro increased from to It’s really a pain in the rear to adjust all the channels’ sample delay in a serious project. I make dance music so I deal with a max of 60 tracks but still Explanation: I’ve sent audio from an instrument via audio plugin and back to daw with VEP Instrument.
I can clearly hear sound happening before daw’s needle reaches the beginning of the midi region. So it’s like the daw is compensating all the tracks to a higher introduced latency but not the VEP instrument track itself.
If I place a sample delay on this track, it seems like the problem goes away. I still have my doubts that the sync is perfect though. VEP Instrument w. But if insert some plugins in the server side which will change latency, the whole thing falls apart. And this is without the aspect of Server not compensating properly for some plugins it compensates with the plugin on but fails to compensate when the plugin is bypassed.
I hope this is the final edit: I’ve noticed that bypassed inserts in a VEP Instance will do a total mess up in terms of delay compensation. Using only active inserts looks like a big improvement. Will do more research. Ok i’ve got what you mean, while there are no issues with delay compensation if you put the audio in directly on the channel and then return back on an instrument, there are lot of problems if you want to use VEP like an effect using a bus and aux like you did on your video, by the way i’ve found a workaround to keep the sync but there are some rules to keep in mind and require the use of Voxengo Latency delay free.
Plug-ins also require more CPU power to process audio files at higher sample rates. When choosing the sample rate for your project, balance the considerations of audio quality, the anticipated format of the final product, and the performance of your Mac. If disk activity is causing system overload alerts, try choosing lower sample rates for your projects. When using CPU-intensive effect plug-ins such as reverbs and delays, you can reduce the load on the CPU by using send effects.
Send effects let you use a single plug-in to process signals from multiple channels. Avoid inserting effect plug-ins on individual tracks in a project.
You can also optimize Alchemy for improved performance. Configure your system Follow these guidelines when configuring your system for use with Logic Pro: Quit other apps when using Logic Pro. Make sure your Mac has the maximum amount of RAM, especially if your projects usually include many plug-ins or multiple instances of the EXS24 sampler. Save projects with high track counts to a dedicated storage device such as an external USB-C hard drive or an external solid-state drive SSD instead of saving projects to the system drive of your Mac.
The high and low cut knobs make a return in this version, too. Plus, you can tailor your reverb sounds through six surface types, and eight different stereo reflections. For a quick start, easyReverb also gives you 60 presets. Ambience was designed by Smartelectronix member Magnus Jonsson when he was still a student, and it remains a favourite amongst thrifty music-makers.
There are some more exciting features that can be great for creative applications. Also, compared to some of the other plug-ins on this list, Ambience has a polished interface, which is a plus.
The plug-in is still tweakable, though. For extra control over its reverberation characteristics, there are also Damp Low and Damp High tone controls, which can be bypassed if you want to conserve CPU. Try these steps in order After trying each step below, test Logic Pro again to see if you’ve fixed your issue.
Unplug your external audio interface from your Mac. Open and play back a project that’s been experiencing issues. Open Logic Pro without audio input and output Open Logic Pro and immediately press and hold the Control key before a project opens.
Test with a new project You can create a new project and test to check if the issue is with your project or Logic Pro app. If Logic Pro is open, quit the app. Open Logic Pro and create a new empty project. Add Apple Loops to the new project. The best test to check that your Apogee hardware is working correctly is to directly monitor inputs in Apogee Maestro 2 For Apogee USB devices or in the Control app for Apogee thunderbolt devices Question: Q: latency issues on logic pro x after high sierra upgrade.
When I record audio as vocals, guitar, it sounds logic pro x latency on playback free good when recording. With plug-in latency compensation set to All, Logic Pro shifts the logic pro x latency on playback free bass track forward by 10 ms, thus synchronizing the bass and drum tracks.
Activate plug-ins on inactive channels. II have a problem with latency of some sort. Yes, this is the root of problem. This has never happened to me before in the 8 months I’ve been using. You can get by with a program like Garageband on a Macbook Air but definitely not a robust, feature laden program like Logic Pro X. Your email address will not be published. Music-makers have been raving about this creative reverb from Valhalla since it launched this May. The aptly named Supermassive offers lush reverbs, otherworldly delays and a vast spectrum of atmospheric goodness. The ace up its sleeve is the Warp control, which can turn signals into transcendental sounds, beginning with phaser and chorus-like qualities that quickly evolve into cascading harmonic echos and minutes-long modulated reverbs at higher settings.
Download here. The all-in-one epicVerb presents some very usable reverbs, spanning spaces both natural and ambient. It gives you two reverberation modes reverb and ambience and six stereo early reflection models. Also, the plug-in offers two EQs, as well as additional high- and low-pass filtering. PC, bit. Through a process called convolution, these ambience samples can be used to simulate real spaces in your productions.
Especially handy when mixing is that Convology XT enables you to change IR models without having to stop playback, allowing you to audition different models quickly. Togu Audio Line is a name familiar in both our synth and reverb plug-in roundups. With Tal -Reverb 4, the plug-in makers set out to design a high-quality plate reverb with a vintage 80s character. As with previous versions of Tal-Reverb, this one is easy to use and sounds great. Its distinctly diffuse sound, when paired with the modulation section, can lead to some texturally interesting reverbs.
The high and low cut knobs make a return in this version, too. Plus, you can tailor your reverb sounds through six surface types, and eight different stereo reflections. For a quick start, easyReverb also gives you 60 presets.

If your project does include automation, choose the option that includes only the parameters you’re automating. Projects with higher sample rates create larger audio files, which can increase the load on the CPU and disk. Plug-ins also require more CPU power to process audio files at higher sample rates. Audio and software instrument channel strips only: If you insert latency-causing plug-ins only on audio and instrument channel strips, you can choose plug-in latency compensation for only audio and instrument tracks.
This results in snappy playback performance. All channel strip types: If you insert latency-causing plug-ins on aux or output channel strips, you can choose plug-in latency compensation for all types of channel strips. When this setting is turned on, Logic Pro compensates for latency-causing plug-ins by calculating the amount of latency caused by all plug-ins, and then delaying audio streams by an appropriate amount. This type of plug-in latency compensation can result in a slight lag in playback performance, depending on how much latency is being compensated.
Delays in playing back audio, whether caused by a plug-in or by the plug-in latency compensation feature, can result in your performance being out of time. Basically it’s not possible to come out from a channel and keep the dry signal in sync with its return from Audio routings in VEP, no chances, at least i’ve found no ways when you include busses and auxes on the chain. My logic is with samples buffer, if you want to replicate this use the same buffer, you’ll be able to lower it later. The first channel will be the DRY return and the others are the 4 effect i want to use. Now create a normal instrument channel, i’m going to use exs24 and a kick like you did in your video, now the tricky part.
In order to use fx from VEP the out will become bus1, assign bus on busses in order to send audio to fx in vep. Basically also the dry signal will go throu VEP, this is the only way i’ve found for now to keep things as easier as possible. Everything will play out of sync compared to logic’s metronome, and here comes voxengo latency delay to help us. Latest commit. Git stats commits. Failed to load latest commit information.
