If you are buying this software because you currently run QB and using payroll , you probably already know that this update was forced upon us.
If you are not currently running QB I would highly recommend finding an alternative. I have run QB for approximately 16 years, it has never been great, but tolerable because it is the industry standard. This year they have moved to a one year subscription based licensing that costs three times what it used too over a three year period. For three times the money we should get better functionality like alphabetizing lists, wow what a concept!
It will not install properly. I had to go to the QB site and download R4 which did install on two windows 10 machines. This is an indication of how bloated and unstable this program is. Lets face it, this is a basic database and calculator. I have such a sour taste in my mouth over this. I am reminded every morning when while crashes and I am trying to run my business. I wish that there was an alternative for the desktop, but all the competitors seem to be web-based. I’m installing Quickbooks Pro and it doesn’t want to activate. I didn’t buy this program here but I use QuickBooks Desktop Pro and my only beef, besides it being very difficult to navigate, is there is no phone help.
I had online payroll assistance and needed to make a simple change in my legal address. QuickBooks throws you in a no help loop and does not offer any phone number to get it corrected. I went online and saw others had the same problem. Quickbooks only has phones for selling you programs, nothing to get assistance and if and when you did find a number somewhere, they tell you it may take quite awhile for them to get back to you.
